You can choose between 3 control schemes and customize them. The game recommends a controller, but I play with "C" (= keyboard only) and customized shortcuts just fine.
You can unlock 13 starting Chakras (=different bonusses you can start with if you want) and 3 more Asuras (different look and items) and you have 5 profile slots for family members/startovers whithout loosing progress.
To try and prevent disappointment, because this game is perfect for what it is (my opinion):
1) If you are looking for a game you can sink hours into in a SINGLE run look elsewhere. It has 5 maps (e.g. compared to Torchlight 2 tiny, but just the right size for this game imho) where you have to defeat a boss to get to the next. You don't have to fight the other enemies, but if you enter a room with one or more, the doors lock and only reopen if you beat them all.
2) You have 4 skillcolumns each with 4 main Shastras (2 unlocks after 1 etc and level requirements) which each have 1 upgrade option. Those Shastras (21 for each column = 84 in total) are random each run. So if you like to "min/max"/"opimize" you might want to look elsewhere. (More numbers: 12 bosses, 9 champions, 49 others; 82 weapons, 41 armours)
3) If you want an "automated" real-time fight look elsewhere. In this game you have to dodge incoming danger and/or to look where you are running. You can't shoot arrows or swing swords/hammers while you are running and you have to turn around/change direction to face an enemy. Only ranged attacks that put marks on the ground overcome walls/objects.
In my opinion is this game good for everyone who likes to beat up pixel opponents and to make more or less spontaneous choices about skills in a quick run (if you really take your time 30 min at most? I 'm bad at guessing and at these kind of games -still haven't beaten the last map-).
I like Asura a lot. But I like quick "uncomplicated" games, so Asura is perfect for me.
I'm sorry for any spelling/grammatic/punctiation mistake.
